Gov. Mills appoints Camden cooperative housing champion to Maine state board

Governor Janet Mills has appointed Margaret Jones, board president of the Mountainside Cooperative Community in Camden, to the Manufactured Housing Board for the state of Maine.

Margaret is no stranger to the state capital and recently testified to support the Opportunity to Purchase bill LD 1931. Her testimony helped bring it over the finish line, and the bill passed! Margaret and her community were also instrumental in a tour for federal officials in the fall of 2022 that supported the PRICE bill.

Margaret is a Maine Resident Owned Communities (ROC) legislative team member and is always thinking about how to advance the ROC movement in Maine and nationwide. Margaret, we thank you for your service to the ROC movement and the state of Maine, and we look forward to hearing about all the wonderful things you’ll be engaged with.

Governor Mills stated, “I am confident you will make a valuable contribution to the state in this position.” We couldn’t agree more.
